6 - 10 May 2005 - James H. Burke, 299th Engineer Combat Battalion veteran, visited Bigonville, where he once stayed one day as a POW in December 1944.
He toured the area with family members and told about his experiences. While in the area for a couple of days, he visited Bigonville, Rombach, Martelange, Beckerich and many other places in both Belgium and Luxembourg

2 September 2004 - BRIG GEN (Ret.) James H. Leach and Mrs. Marion Leach visited Bigonville for a couple of days and met with local friends.

5 May 2004 - Joe Winiarz, grandson of William J. Clifford, visited Bigonville today. His grandfather was killed in action on 24 December 1944, during the battles to liberate the village.
After his arrival in Bigonville, with a buddy driving a restored W.W.II Jeep, he visited the village and returned to the places where his grandfather served with the 53rd Armored Infantry Battalion almost 60 years ago.
