Welcome,

This site provides information about the history of my hometown Bigonville in Luxembourg during the war years. This information includes original documents and accounts. It's up to you to put the different reports and information together to get an objective view of these days in W.W.II.

Have a look at W.W.II as they once lived it...

The investigation and research is still in process. The site is constantly growing.

The site is divided into two sections. The CIVILIAN EXPERIENCES section contains information about the life in Bigonville during the German occupation and the Battle of the Bulge; the MILITARY OPERATIONS section covers the military operations and battles in the sector.

4 TH ARMORED DIVISION

MEMORIAL DAY
BIGONVILLE
OCTOBER 26, 1985

THIS IS A SIMPLE STORY OF JUST ONE
BATTLE CONCEIVES IN THE THROES OF AN
UNWANTED WAR, AND DEDICATED TO LIBERTY.

HUNDREDS OF MEN SUPPORTED BY THOUSANDS
OF ADDITIONAL MEN, KNIT TOGETHER AS ONE
BY THE HARDSHIPS, THE HELL AND THE
GLORY OF THE FIELD OF BATTLE.

THOUGH MANY HEROIC DEEDS HAVE GONE
OFFICIALLY UNRECOGNIZED, EVERY SOLDIER
IS A HERO IN THE EYES OF THOSE WHO LOVE
HIM, AND EACH KNOWS IN HIS OWN HEART,
THE PART HE PLAYED IN FINAL VICTORY.
